Freedom From Porn Begins HereIhe Atụ
Day 6
Detox
If you are reading this, congrats! It doesn't matter how big or small it is, starting a new habit is hard… even as small as reading a lesson.
Today we are going to watch the video "Detox." In this video, you'll learn that someone should try to experience 90 days without porn and masturbation. For this challenge, we are focused on 30 days. Thirty days is a great win!
At the end of this challenge, you'll be given an opportunity to keep going for 60 more days to make it 90!
Some guys going through the challenge recently posted some wise thoughts:
"If you’re fighting, you’re winning!! I see guys get frustrated and quit because they aren’t 100% free. But the struggle is the win. We’re being sanctified. Be encouraged in the fight."
"Remember just because you lose a battle, it doesn’t mean you’ve lost the war. Keep fighting."
"Humble yourself before God and let it be about God. So often the fight becomes a personal effort to avoid shame and guilt or become who we know we’re supposed to be. Acknowledge your own personal weakness and God’s infinite strength, and seek to let God work in your life for His glory."
"Praise God for victories, no matter how small."
Today’s Challenge:
- Watch the Detox video.
- Answer the reflection questions.
Reflection Questions:
- Why is it important to go through a period of detox?
- How radical would you get if you would receive a million dollars for going 90 days without acting out?
- What do you think are the most important steps for you for a successful detox? Why?
- Which of the 7 steps discussed in the video do you need to focus on the most?
- In Matthew 6:13 Jesus taught us to pray, “Lead us not into temptation.” During detox what are the areas of temptation you need to pray about and avoid?
