Worship Is My WeaponIhe Atụ
I pastored a Church for 36 years that grew from thirty-two people to several thousands. We have been blessed to baptize a new believer EVERY SINGLE DAY for the last five years.
During these years of growth, we had problems, adversities, discouraging times, internal and external battles, and spiritual warfare that I never could have imagined.
One of the most liberating days of my life through this journey was when I discovered the POWER of spiritual weapons.
The Bible tells us we’re in a spiritual battle. We’re called to be “good soldiers of Jesus Christ,” (2 Timothy 2:3).
We are in a war between good and evil.
The enemy attacks different areas of our lives: our health, family, relationships, and faith.
There’s more to what you’re facing than what is natural.
The Biblical word is “scheme.” It’s found in Ephesians 6:11. It means “plot carefully contrived, a strategic plan” of the devil. It’s crucial to be spiritually alert that we’re in a war, aware of the tactics of the enemy, and suited for battle in the armor of God. Ephesians 6:11-18 describes putting on the of spiritual armor of God.
Worship is a highly powerful and effective tool in bringing about a breakthrough.
Here are three things the Weapon of Worship brings to our Battle:
1. Worship redirects our focus. What we focus on we feel in any given circumstance. Worship opens the door to peace when you face an uncertain future.
2. Worship makes the enemy scatter. God instructed Jehosophat to “Put the Worshippers out front as they went into battle and trust God to give the victory.” Jehosophat's victory began with worship. (2 Chron. 20:19)
3. Worship is our testimony to the world. Acts 16:25, Paul and Silas had been beaten, chained and thrown in prison. At midnight, they worshipped. God sent an earthquake, breaking chains off every prisoner, and opening the doors of all those inside. The rest of the prisoners stayed because they were eyewitnesses to the suffering of these men who were still praising God.
“Praise the Lord, He can work through those who praise Him,
praise the LORD, for the chains that seem to bind you, drop
powerless behind you, when you praise Him”
