Salty and Shiny - A Study of the BeatitudesIhe Atụ
Blessed Are The Pure
If you live in a crowded metropolis and have to drive every morning through peak traffic, you know how hard it is to stay pure. The endless traffic stops and absolute audacity of people in cutting us off on the road are enough for some ripe, ungodly words to spew out of our mouths. The more we understand the God of the Bible, we realize that it’s not perfection that He’s after, only purity. If you have ever watched how gold is purified, you would know how long a process it is until the purest possible form of the metal is available. Each stage of the purification process is long drawn and intense, but the purity of the metal keeps increasing with each subsequent step. At the final stage, the gold which is retained is 99.95% pure. Not 100%. Surprising, right? The point is that we, like gold, are a work in progress. Each day that we live on earth, with life in our bodies we are being renewed into the likeness of Christ himself. Our situations, our setbacks, our joys and our sorrows are the refining fire through which we must pass in order to emerge better, stronger and purer. Those who are pure in heart are completely yielded to the Holy Spirit’s transforming work in them and can “see God” since they will experience God on that journey.
Will you open yourself up to the Holy Spirit today and allow Him free access to the deepest parts of your heart so that He can begin a new work in you?

The Christian journey is one of varied experiences. Irrespective of the season of life we are in, we must be able to leave a mark on those around us so that they experience Jesus or at the very least be curious about what’s different in us. Our prayer is that you will effortlessly bring out the God flavors and colors in every season you find yourself in.
