- What creates conflict between Hannah and Peninnah?
- Things like athletic talent, work ethic, popularity, relationships, etc. can be points of strife and division on teams. As a team, how can you work through these issues to be a team that Glorifies God?
- Who is responsible for Hannah’s barrenness?
- How does Hannah’s barrenness affect her emotionally physically, socially, and spiritually?
- How does your previous athletic performance affect you emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually?
- What does Elkanah do for Hannah? Does this change her demeanor? Why?
- What does Hannah decide to do about her barrenness and about being provoked by her rival?
- Who does she turn to? What else could she have done?
- Have you had an athletic setback, such as injury, illness, or stressful family situation? What does Hannah’s response teach us about how we can respond in difficult circumstances?
