Until the Spirit Comes

JOU 2 SOU 10

Acceptance – Sonship

"Wise leaders should have known that the human heart cannot exist in a vacuum. If Christians are forbidden to enjoy the wine of the Spirit they will turn to the wine of the flesh... Christ died for our hearts and the Holy Spirit wants to come and satisfy them.” - A.W. Tozer

The Holy Spirit not only confirms Jesus’s Sonship, but also ours as well.  In ancient times, all the blessing was conferred on the eldest son. In Christ, that blessing has come to all.  The confidence that comes when the Holy Spirit bears witness within us that we are children of God, is a very precious gift. The greatest cure for insecurity and anxiety is knowing that you are a child of God and special to Him. If your confidence is weak, seek the Holy Spirit.  If you’re feeling insecure or anxious, seek the Holy Spirit.

We don’t strive for acceptance; we receive it with thankfulness. Make your prayer one of thanksgiving.

Until the Spirit Comes

Jesus ascended to heaven forty days after his resurrection. During that time He appeared to His followers, saying, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." Waiting can be difficult. Behind closed doors, praying and waiting for the gift of the Spirit… for ten days. God is up to something!
