Jesus, I Need You Part 8નમૂનો
QUIET MOMENT
We can’t talk about being the light of the world without talking about persecution. The more committed you are to following Him – the more you will be persecuted. But the fire of persecution refines us to shine brighter and purer with His light.
GOING DEEPER
When does persecution come? It comes when we pick up our cross and follow Jesus. When we renounce the things of this world and pursue righteousness, we will be persecuted. The world is so offended at righteousness, so we must be prepared.
Read Jesus’ words to His disciples in John 15:15-25 and His prayer for them in John 17:13-26. Pray through these passages. Note key verses that you want to ask God to implant in your heart and mind. Imagine Jesus praying for you.
Now re-read John 15:20. What is Jesus saying here? Is He your master? Are you willing to be persecuted for following Him as your master?
Now let’s take a look at what the Word says about the light. Read John 1:1-14 and keep in mind that Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.” What do you learn about light?
Look up the following Scriptures and note what you learn about the light and your role.
John 3:19-21
Acts 13:47
2 Corinthians 4:4-6
Ephesians 5:8-14
Do you hear God pleading with you to be in the light so that you can be the light?
Are you being a light in the darkness? O do you feel the darkness snuffing out your light? Is there a basket over your light?
Are you frightened of being the light in the darkness because you might suffer persecution?
REFLECTION AND PRAYER
Reread Ephesians 5:14. What do you hear the Lord speaking to your heart? Have you cried out to Him and asked Him to wake you? Pray this for yourself and the church.
TAKE THE TRUTH TO HEART AND BRING THE TRUTH TO LIFE
Choose one truth from today and apply it to your heart. Take it with you throughout the day.
