The Rebuild: Matthew 5-7નમૂનો

I am going to assume that you are like most people who do not enjoy radical changes to the plan, the routine or the rhythms of life. Take a moment and imagine being Abram (later called Abraham). He’s going about his life, worshipping his idols, likely growing his cattle kingdom... Suddenly, out of nowhere, the one and true living God speaks to him and says, “Go to a land I am showing you.” Talk about changes to the plan! And yet, God’s instruction to Abram came with powerful promises of blessing, not just for him and his family but for the whole world.
Matthew’s summary of what was likely a much lengthier sermon by Jesus to the disciples and the crowds, shows us how Jesus is the answer to this radical change of plans and the blessings that flow when we are obedient to God’s word. Jesus perfectly kept God’s word, lived by these words and taught these words. We can be thankful today that we are rescued by a perfect saviour who, by His Spirit, is working this sermon through our lives that “all the nations may be blessed” as our lives point people to our perfect saviour.
Today, ponder this: Are you, or someone you know, experiencing a radical change in life right now? How are the promises Jesus teaches in the Beatitudes bringing you, or the person you know, hope and comfort today? Thank Jesus, rejoicing in the fulfilment of these promises through Him!

About this Plan

“You have heard it said…” In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus begins to rebuild and reform our understanding of life in His Kingdom. In Matthew 5-7, He challenges the religious traditions of His day and the competing worldviews of our own. His words are a call to transformation—a new way to live under His reign. As Jesus lays the foundation for His Kingdom, we are invited to tear down false beliefs and build our lives on His truth.
