Fortified: A Week of Strength for Menનમૂનો
Finding Hope Again
God takes his time to accomplish his work. It’s frustrating but true. As a busy man, you might sometimes wish he would pick up the pace. It’s important to remember how carefully, intentionally, and graciously he is doing his transforming work in your life. His timing is perfect. He really understands you, and he knows how to piece your life together perfectly.
Scripture promises that when you sow with tears, you will reap with joy. Be reassured that even painful seasons can bear fruit. When you don’t see how anything good can come of your situation, God is still at work. When you feel lost, hopeless, and exhausted, God is still moving. His work in your life isn’t limited to your understanding. When you feel the most helpless, his strength is the most magnified. Give him your tears or your feelings of defeat and trust that he is capable of making something of them.
Preparing, planting, caring, watching, and reaping—everything has a season. If a farmer sows tears, then it would stand to reason that he would reap tears. As you work in partnership with God’s perfect timing, your reward is lasting change. You might sow in tears, but at harvest time, the fruit of those tears will be revealed in powerful joy.
Today, surrender your feelings of despair or defeat to God. Lay them at his feet. He sees you, and he knows exactly how tired you are. He isn’t ashamed of you, and he isn’t disappointed in you. What you see as weakness he sees as an opportunity for you to lean on his strength. Your weaknesses are not limitations, they are simply ways to highlight what God is doing. Stand in awe of his glory and surrender to his kingship. Invite him into the most painful parts of your life, and trust that he can transform them.
