Prepare the Way: A 21-Day Reading Plan Through John by Justeina Brownleeનમૂનો
Day 5: Testify
Read John 5
In John 5, Jesus responds to the Jewish leaders questioning His Authority by pointing to several things that testify about who He is—the Son of God. Jesus tells them that His claims aren’t self-made, but are supported by multiple witnesses. This reminds us that we don’t need to take everything on faith alone; God has given us proof of who Jesus is.
First, Jesus points to John the Baptist, who declared Jesus as “the Lamb of God.” John’s testimony reminds us that God often uses others to point us toward the Truth. When we’re doubting, we can lean on the voices of mentors, friends, and Scripture to reassure us.
Next, Jesus references His miracles, calling them signs that prove He’s from God. The miracles in the Bible—and even the small miracles we see in our lives today—testify to Jesus’ Divine Power.
Jesus also points to God the Father’s testimony, especially when the Father declared at Jesus’ Baptism, “This is my Son.” God’s Affirmation of Jesus also extends to us: when we follow Christ, God calls us His children, too.
Finally, Jesus points to the Scriptures. The entire Bible, especially the Old Testament, points to Jesus as the Promised Savior. The more we read and study God’s Word, the more we’ll see how it testifies to Jesus’ Identity and Mission.
Reflection Questions:
- Which testimony—John the Baptist, Jesus’ miracles, God the Father, or the Scriptures—resonates with you most? How does it strengthen your faith?
- How can you share your testimony about what God has done in your life with others?
