Prepare the Way: A 21-Day Reading Plan Through John by Justeina Brownleeનમૂનો
Day 7: Let the River Flow
Read John 7
During the Feast of Tabernacles, a key Jewish festival, Jesus made a bold statement: "Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." The festival celebrated God's Provision of water in the wilderness, and Jesus was claiming to be the Fulfillment of everything that the water-pouring ceremony symbolized.
Jesus wasn’t talking about physical water—He was talking about the Holy Spirit. Just like water is essential for life, the Holy Spirit is essential for our spiritual lives. John explains that the "living water" Jesus mentioned was referring to the Spirit, whom believers would later receive.
The Holy Spirit isn't just a Force from the past; He’s still at work in us today. In the Book of Acts, the Holy Spirit empowered ordinary people to boldly proclaim the Gospel and perform miracles. And the same Spirit lives in us, refreshing our souls, giving us Wisdom, and Guiding us in Truth. When we let the Holy Spirit flow through us, we experience God’s Power in our lives, and we can bring life, healing, and encouragement to others.
Staying connected to Jesus is the key to letting the River of the Holy Spirit flow. Through prayer, Scripture, and being open to the Spirit's Leading, we allow God to work through us in powerful ways.
Reflection Questions:
- Are there areas in your life where you feel spiritually dry? How can you reconnect with Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to refresh you?
- How can you let the Holy Spirit flow through you to be a Source of encouragement and healing to those around you?
