The Passionate Groom

DAY 5 OF 6

The Kiss that Transforms

The service we offer to God must be a result of our love for Him, not an attempt to replace or compensate for that love. The Lord desires our hearts to be fully surrendered and poured out before Him. Our service to God should be done with joy, not as a dry obligation. God calls us to seek His presence, not out of mere duty, but because we find fullness in Him.

Jesus warned Martha in Luke 10:41-42 (NIV) when He said: "Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Martha was busy with service, but Mary chose intimacy with Jesus, and that is what the Lord desires from us. We need to remember that the greatest calling is to sit at the Master's feet, in communion with Him.

What hinders us from living out this first love? Often it is religiosity, routine, or even the self-sufficiency we develop in our walk. We can fall into the trap of thinking our work for God is enough, but the Lord wants our hearts.

Spiritual maturity is only reached when we truly know the Lord, and this knowledge comes through His Word. God desires to kiss us with the kiss that is better than wine, the kiss that transforms us and leads us to live in fullness.

We need to draw near to God like children, humble and dependent. Jesus calls us to this intimacy, to a relationship where His love is our priority. May we receive the kiss of the Word and allow it to transform us, rekindling our love for our first love.

About this Plan

The Passionate Groom

In the book of Song of Solomon, the bride symbolizes the Church, which longs for the transformative touch of God's Word. This touch, like a divine kiss, purifies and reveals, establishing the foundation of our faith. Just as the bride, we are called to seek this intimacy, allowing the Word to transform us and prepare us for a life that pleases the Lord. Let yourself be touched by divine revelation.
