The Coming Golden Age by Dr. David Jeremiahનમૂનો
Kingdom Blessings Today
The Bible speaks much of the coming golden age—a millennial reign unlike any other epoch in world history—which should stir us to look upward to heaven in anticipation.
But these millennial blessings—which will one day be physical and literal—are available to you and me right now on a spiritual, personal, emotional, and experiential level.
In talking about the ultimate blessings promised to us during the Millennium and beyond, the apostle Paul wrote, “We believers . . . have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory” (Romans 8:23 NLT). The Holy Spirit, who is eternal and transcends time, has brought us tokens of the future.
Because of God’s Son, who is now alive and reigning at the Father’s right hand, we can enjoy the blessings of His kingdom before we even arrive in the millennial age. The Holy Spirit brings them to us. He Himself is a foretaste of all the good coming our way.
We now live in a kingdom of the “already, but not yet.” We can enjoy some millennial qualities “already” while awaiting the “not yet.”
First, we can experience holiness. Even now, the Lord’s indwelling presence within us transforms us into the image of Christ “from glory to glory” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Second, we can experience peace through the Lord Jesus Christ. While we may have little peace in our world, we can have great peace in our hearts. How often, by the bedsides of the sick or over the kitchen tables of the troubled, have I quoted John 14:27: “Peace I leave with You, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” And Psalm 119:165 says, “Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.”
Third and finally, we can experience passionate worship. The deafening majesty of the royal choirs of the Millennium are no better than the raspy voice of a single saint, her hymnbook open before her, singing to the Lord during her morning devotions.
Lord Jesus, as I await Your return and the promise of Your millennial reign, I thank You that I can know You even now and enjoy the many blessings and benefits You provide. In Your name, Amen.
