The Coming Golden Age by Dr. David Jeremiahનમૂનો
Unending Worship
Among many other blessings that believers will enjoy during the golden age to come, our practice of worship will be more pure and powerful than at any point since the fall. We’ll once again enjoy genuine, face-to-face fellowship with God. Moreover, our worship experience will be boosted by worldwide unity in our focus on Jesus Christ. No more division, religious strife, or idolatry.
The practice of worship during the Millennium will be constant—a regular, repeating, self-replicating foundation of our everyday lives. Isaiah 60:11 says: “Your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, and their kings in procession.”
As we’ve seen, Jerusalem will be the center of the millennial world. Christ will be there, reigning on the throne of David. A new and glorious temple will be there. And the doors of that temple, just like the gates of that city, will never be closed. What an amazing promise!
In Revelation 4, John described the throne room of heaven as a place of unending praise. In verses 8–11, specially assigned angels circle around the throne day and night, saying: “‘Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!’ . . . the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: ‘You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.’”
During that golden age, we’ll be able to carry out the biblical command to “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18). Because our fellowship with the Savior will be unbroken, our worship will be unceasing. Every act of our lives will be an offering of praise.
Then, after the end of the Millennium, we’ll simply carry on our worship with even greater joy in the new heaven, new earth, and New Jerusalem!
Eternal God and Father, you are worthy of all praise and adoration, and I can’t wait until that day when I will join my fellow saints in worshiping you without ceasing. Amen.
