The Answer You’ve Been Searching For

I believe there is a cry worldwide—a yearning for supernatural power. There is a deep hunger for spiritual things and the unseen world. You see it online, at bookstores, in magazines, on TV, and on talk shows. People are trying to reach into the spiritual world, looking for answers.

Why is this? Scripture teaches us we are more than a mind and a body—we are spiritual beings. We all have a hunger for spiritual things. The question is: are we looking in the right places?

As Christians, we have the answer the world is looking for—and it is not simply words. People are longing for a demonstration of power by the Holy Spirit! They need a touch from God, to be filled with God.

The Apostle Paul faced a similar situation in his first-century world. He dealt with a very spiritual and philosophical culture—a culture quite similar to ours. Yet, how did he respond? When Paul came into the city of Corinth, he said in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5: My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

God wants to demonstrate His power on earth by radically changing people’s lives! The key to real transformation is the power of the Holy Spirit. We as a church not only have a message, but we can also introduce people to an encounter and an ongoing relationship with the living God.

As you engage with God’s Word:

● What is God saying to me?

● What does it mean to me?

● How can I apply what God is teaching me?

● How can I be specific in prayer today?

After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
