Timeless: The Living and Enduring Word of Godનમૂનો
Stop It
Peter targeted retaliation in a believer’s heart and demanded the Body of Christ be done with counterattacks. It takes two people to fight, and a Christian should never enter a war of words. Offering mercy and forgiveness provides a more potent posture than being a person of bitterness and revenge. The Bible never states that we are allowed to treat people in the same manner they have treated us. The Word of God is unremitting in the inerrant truth of fully pardoning and then blessing those who have wronged us—regardless of what instinct says.
When your flesh and emotions are riled due to mistreatment or rejection, run to the Lord, and ask Him to help you perceive the situation from His perspective. If you allow the Holy Spirit to work in your heart, He will show you how to respond in kindness despite the offense. Resolve to become an unoffendable person who is determined to not only give a blessing but to be a blessing.
Day Five Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I deeply desire to live a glorious life that only honors You. Help me to control my mouth and to be a zealot for peace in all my relationships. Father, thank You for watching me and for listening to me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
