Without Worry

Matthew 6:28-30

“‘And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?’”

Springtime reminds us that God is faithful to provide. Just like the wildflowers bloom effortlessly after a long, cold winter, God can revive your dating life and help you connect with the right person.

It’s easy to get caught up in feeling worried and anxious about whether or not you’ll meet that special someone. But you can find comfort in God’s assurance that He will provide for you and look after your best interests according to His plans. By actively trusting God’s infallible plan, you will realize that He will take care of you just as He does the grass of the field.

In Matthew 6:27 (NIV), Jesus asks a fundamental question: “‘Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?’” This rhetorical question challenges us to quiet our minds and reminds us that worry does not solve anything.

It also means that worrying about your dating life won’t do you any good. It might cause you to feel discouraged and anxious, but it won’t bring you any closer to finding your forever person. It is important to trust God to lead you to the right person at the right time.

Learning to let go of worry and trust in God may be difficult, but it can lead to a more fulfilling and peaceful dating journey. Start today with this prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for caring for me like You do the birds of the air and the flowers of the fields. I choose to trust You with my dating life instead of worrying about when I’ll meet the right person. As I continue to put myself out there, meet new people, and go on dates, please guide me in making the right choices and dating in a way that honors and glorifies You.
