Women of the Bibleનમૂનો
Miriam
When you hear the name Miriam, you might think of the young girl who was asked to watch her baby brother, Moses, as he floated in a basket down the river. But Miriam played a big part in God's plan for his people, the Israelites. In Exodus chapter 15, Miriam is called a prophetess. She is the first woman in scripture who was given this honor. God allowed Miriam to be a named part of what He accomplished at a pivotal moment in history. Alongside her two brothers, Miriam helped lead the people of Israel out of captivity and to the Promised Land.
We often hear the question, what role did women play in the Bible? Miriam goes a long way in answering this question. She was called to step up with her brothers and lead the Israelites to freedom. We’ll never know all she did to assist Moses and serve God, but we do know it is significant because, in Micah 6, the LORD says He sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam before Israel to guide the way.
1. Are you being called to something outside of your comfort zone?
2. How are you asking the Lord to prepare you to fulfill this calling?
Prayer: Lord, strengthen me in the areas where I am weak. Teach me to lean on you to fulfill my calling.
