Legacy Leadershipનમૂનો
When it comes to leadership, there are many different aspects that we can focus on. Developing our people skills or building vision is important, but effective godly leadership is more than just having the right skill set or powerful charisma. True leadership, according to God’s plan, is an intentional journey to ensure that the leadership calling and vision that you presently carry will impact the future generations to come.
As leaders, we can often focus on success. We look at the goals we are achieving, the markers we have reached, and the numbers that we are impacting. And indeed, God gives vision and conquests for us to achieve as part of our calling as a leader. But God’s greater intention is that we would achieve those goals in a way that impregnates the emerging generation of leaders with the DNA of Christ and the culture of the kingdom.
Legacy leadership shifts the primary focus from success to legacy.
What is a legacy? A legacy is literally an inheritance that is passed from one generation to another. Inheritance is often thought of in the physical realm - such as property, money, or special items that we receive from someone else. But a spiritual inheritance is of much greater value than any physical item that could be given. Unlike practical success or a physical inheritance which can often dwindle or die after a few generations, a true spiritual inheritance will never perish, spoil, or fade.
All legacy involves success, but not all success involves legacy. You cannot leave behind a legacy without living a life that has been fruitful and successful for the kingdom. But you can live a life of success without leaving behind a generational legacy.
We don’t need more ‘successful’ leaders in the church, in the marketplace, and in our communities. We need legacy leaders who are truly successful, but who will also model the Father’s DNA and intentionally pass on a spiritual inheritance for the generations to come.
