The Other Five Prayer Journey

DAY 22 OF 22

DAY TWENTY TWO

Luke 10:2 (ESV) "And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."

In the Andean mountains of Ecuador, there are still many cities and towns without an adequate gospel witness. Biblian, with 20,000 inhabitants, is one such city steeped in idolatry and closed to the gospel, driving out any efforts to evangelize. Pray that God will raise up valiant workers to reach this city for Jesus.  Dozens of towns like Oña, Chunchi, and Chorocte, with indigenous populations who have a syncretistic belief system of animism and Catholicism, are waiting for someone to bring them the good news.

The Assemblies of God of Ecuador has caught the vision to plant churches using house groups. Especially now, during COVID-19, this is an excellent strategy. But for this strategy to be successful, an army of workers must be launched to do the work of the ministry. In the city of Loja, nestled in a beautiful valley in the southern Ecuadorian Andes, 372 people have accepted Christ through seventy small groups that meet on Zoom. Truly the harvest is plentiful!

Prayer: Lord of the harvest, we ask that You send out laborers to bring in those who will be saved. Raise up workers out of the existing local churches, passionate to reach others for You, both in their cities and beyond. May the pastors enable and release these workers to follow Your lead. Provide provision for this vision, God. And may Your church be planted in every community.

About this Plan

The Other Five Prayer Journey

The Other Five are the 5 out of 6 people in Latin America Caribbean that are not yet disciples of Jesus. The soul care decisions regarding them should be guided by the Lord of the Harvest, the One that truly cares most for every soul. The One that cares most should be foremost in determining where the focus should be directed as we PRAY, GO, AND GIVE.
