DAY 3 OF 20

Let's be honest for a second. Taking advice from people can be incredibly difficult, and for a number of reasons! Either it can be really hard knowing whom we can trust or knowing how much we can trust them with. Some of us have even been betrayed by someone we trusted in the past, and we're a little nervous to try again. On the flip side, some people seem to never know when to keep their opinions to themselves. This can crossover into unwanted advice quickly.

Not all of us can be so willing to ask for advice. Solomon was the son of David and is now remembered as the king who asked for wisdom. Throughout a collection of proverbs, he reminds us why it isn't always a negative thing to hear from others. It's not just a good idea to get someone's opinion on challenging areas of our lives, but essential for us to lean into God's wisdom for our life.

Consider one area of life where you feel misguided or unsure of decisions you need to make. What is one piece of advice you have heard from someone (Bible verses included!) that can better support you?

About this Plan

Rad

Jesus had a lot to say about love, but not everyone loved him. Instead, Jesus’ opponents hated him, attacked him, and saw him as extreme — a radical. And they had a point! The things Jesus taught about loving God and others challenged the status quo. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll look at four ways Jesus invites us to love others according to his revolutionary example.
