SoulSister: Renewing Your Soul With the Word of Godનમૂનો
What Does God Say About You?
We are fearfully and wonderfully made. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:11 (KJV), “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” So, when we put on the whole armor of God, the definitions that our circumstances try to put on us bounce off of us. When they try to say what we can or cannot do, it's got to bounce off of us.
My SoulSisters, we are clothed in the Armor of God. Life might hurt and may cause us to feel frustration and disappointment. We may even cry. But after the tears, we must know who we are in Christ and what we’re clothed in. How do we find out who we are in Christ? It’s written in the Word of God.
Don’t take it personally when you are attacked or rejected. This is really a spiritual thing here. Jesus himself was rejected. His very own disciples were rejected, and Jesus said to them in Luke 10:16 (NIV), “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me." We, too, can apply those words to our lives because we are in Christ and Christ is in us.
The spirit of darkness comes after us because we are believers, but there is a benefit for others rejecting us. People’s rejection is God’s acceptance. God will use it to strengthen us. Despite the hurt and disappointment, we will get spiritually stronger. Paul reminds us in Romans 5:3 that we can rejoice in our sufferings. We can remember to say to ourselves in the middle of our pain, “I will not lose hope. I know what my Father said, and I know what I can do through Christ.”
Think About It
1. What past or present words have been spoken over you that has had a positive or negative impact on you?
2. What are some things you have noticed that have tried to define you?
3. What does God say about you?
