90 Days to Wholeness: A Porn Addiction Recovery Devotional for Womenનમૂનો
(contribution written by Jennifer Miller)
Surrender is absolute trust. It's not just a trust that says, "Okay, I trust you." It's not just a decision that we can mark off our checklist of “right things” to do. It is letting go even though there is a risk involved.
Speaking of risk, what if oxygen were suddenly to disappear? We all know that we would only survive mere minutes without it. But yet, we don't fret about oxygen and whether there will be enough for us by the time we take our next breath. We can't prove with our own efforts that there will be oxygen available; we have to just depend on the fact it will be there. In fact, we probably don't even think about breathing, it just happens. We believe that the air we need is a constant that will never let us down. We can't see it or feel it. But it's there for us every time we need it. We can't take any more oxygen into our lungs than what we need for the very breath we are on. We have to rely that when we have finished this breath, there will be more for us.
This is how we have to live in all things. We only have enough for this very moment. We can't fret and worry about the next moment. We can't grab and shove some more of what we need in a box and hope that we'll have it "just in case" we are let down. We have to believe and have faith that what we need will be there when we need it. That He (Jesus) will be there when we need Him. Surrender.
In light of yesterday’s question of the heart, what might you stand to risk by surrendering all to God?
