The Right Responseનમૂનો
Guard Your Faith
During this pandemic, we are encouraged to take extra health precautions for avoiding the invisible COVID-19 virus. Although keeping physical health is of importance, taking care of mental and spiritual health is even more crucial for our well-being. When our heart and mind wither and we let fear, worry, and anxiety take control, our immune system can be weakened and we become prone to illness.
How will this pandemic end? No one knows. But what I know is, every storm will pass. “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me,” (Psalm 23:4). Notice the Psalmist says ‘walk through’, instead of ‘camp in’ or ‘stay in’ the darkest valley. There is the assurance that all dark times will come to an end. “I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me.” Realize that God will never leave us alone. He is by our side, walking our way through this difficult season of life.
The Bible reminds us that each day has enough trouble of its own. Live by this wisdom as you go through your ongoing struggles; be it fighting for your healing, trying to keep your job, or making sure your business survives. Always guard yourself from the news you hear so your faith won’t subside.
Choose to speak words of faith over things that you desire to see, instead of constantly talking about your problems. From Genesis 1 we learn that when there was only darkness, God didn’t say, “It’s dark here.” Instead, He said, “Let there be light,” and so light, which was what God wanted to see, appeared.
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Be careful of the things that we speak into our lives. Our words create our world. We must ask ourselves, what are the words that we allow to come out of our mouths?
Learn to fully surrender to God and never rely on our own resources. We must put our hope in the One who is greater than anything, our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Pray
Father in heaven, I am grateful that I can rely on Your daily provision. I pray that I will receive Your power, hear Your voice, feel Your comfort, and be led by Your Word every single day. Cover me, Jesus, with the power of your holy blood. I believe You are able and Your strength will protect me and the people dear to my heart. Teach me to speak words of faith over things that I desire to see, as I surrender them to You. In the name of Jesus, amen.
