How God Sees Youનમૂનો
RECEIVE IT BY FAITH
There is a way to change how you see yourself. Second Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]” (AMP). We can change our self-image by faith—by believing what God has said.
Read that verse again, and this time, ask yourself what you truly believe about your relationship with God. Do you truly believe He loves you? Many of us think He loves us, but only if we’re doing everything right. That’s a trap, because Jesus has already done all the work to make you righteous! Because of the blood of Jesus, God’s love for you is unconditional. That means He loves you no matter what you do or don’t do.
Now, don’t misunderstand me—it does matter what you do and how you act. Your works and your actions don’t earn you salvation, but as a Christian you are to look and act different from the world, because you have the Greater One in you (see 1 John 4:4).
But none of that changes your right standing with God or His love for you. You are righteous in Jesus’ righteousness, and God loves you because He is good, not because you are! You are washed clean by the blood (see Isa. 1:18), and He loves you if you never do another thing right. He loves you with no strings attached—not based on your performance, but based on what the blood of Jesus has bought for you.
When you truly see that and receive that revelation by faith, you can be emotionally healed and restored. You can begin to develop a new, healthy image of yourself with your identity in Christ, because you are perfectly loved!
Faith for anything—including believing who you are in Christ—comes from God’s Word (Romans 10:17). Reading and meditating on what God says about you how to change the way you think about yourself and develop a self-image in line with who you really are in Christ.
As you read and meditate, God’s truth will get down into your spirit and you’ll begin to see yourself the way He sees you. You will live in your new identity in Christ.
