Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 7નમૂનો
Nahum predicts Judah’s feasts will soon be celebrated in peace because Assyria will be annihilated when it faces the red shields of Babylon. Isaiah, looking further ahead, foresees Satan’s power behind Babylon and God allowing Jerusalem’s downfall.
Note 1 (Nahum 2:3): The Babylonians and Medes painted their shields red and wore scarlet uniforms. They destroyed Nineveh in 626 BC as predicted by Nahum (Nahum 1:15–3:19).
Note 2 (Isaiah 14:12–16): These verses possibly refer to the proud King of Babylon but they also refer to Satan who had a very strong influence over the King.
