Day 2| Focus Your Mind
While we’re walking through these days exploring the fruits of the Spirit, I hope you’ll use a journal to dig deep and document the ways God speaks to you. The ways He shows you He can deepen your walk with Him.
Sometimes the hardest thing to do when it comes to journaling is to clear your mind.
You know, God is the ultimate multi-tasker.
He has the entire universe to think about.
People at war.
The stock market.
The meeting that could change your life.
Your child’s test tomorrow.
He knows what’s on your mind… how dirty your house is, how long it’s been since you weren’t stressed about all you have to get done, and how many meetings you have next week.
And yet He hears your cries – even your whispers.
He can listen to us no matter where we are, what time it is, and how many balls we’re keeping in the air.
He is there.
He hears.
He listens.
For the next few days, I hope you’ll focus on how to release your mind for just a few moments a day. As you think of things you have to do the minute you get up, jot them down. Then refocus your mind on what God wants to teach you now. As you’re quiet and ask Him to speak to your spirit, He will.
He’ll never stand you up.
He is molding you into the woman He wants you to be – and these things will be right here when it’s time.
About this Plan
It's reinforced a million different ways. We overcommit and wear independence like a crown, modeling for those watching us that busy is synonymous with success. Isn't it ironic that what we're called to is complete dependence? This walk through the Fruits of the Spirit reminds us that as we totally submit to God, only then will we be stronger and more beautiful.
