GIVE UNTO THE LORD

The Lord will give strength to His people, the Lord will bless His people with peace. No one can thwart the purposes of God. No one can destroy the people of God.

The giving that is mentioned here is not giving of our treasure, but giving of ourselves totally to the Lord and worship Him. Our worship must not depend on musical instruments or gadgets but God Himself. He is the reason for our worship. He is the motivation to worship. We worship him with our entire being, not with left overs.

Worship is a natural instinct and a basic need for every person. We are created by God to worship Him. God alone is worthy of our devotion, praise and worship. He is God, our Creator, and we are commanded to praise and worship Him. Psalm 96:9 says, "Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth." Psalm 29:2 says, "Give unto the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness."

Our God is King. And He is already seated on the throne. Ultimately the One who reigns is the Sovereign Lord. Who is this Lord and King?

v3 - He is Powerful, in total control. He is the one who empowers, enthrones and dethrones rulers. He will never be dethroned.

v10 - He offers strength, stability and peace.

What should be our response?

v1-2 Give unto the Lord O mighty ones, give unto the Lord the glory and strength due to Him, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Let us give Him all our honour, reverence and worship and glorify His name.

A life of praise and worship fills our deepest needs, and amazingly, it also brings great joy to God. Worship is a condition of our heart – a willingness to exalt God and yield to his will. Worship is an expression of love and awe to the God who gives us more than we deserve. Whether we express our worship by singing, playing music, dancing or in some other way, let us remember that we are called to worship God with our every action, every day of our life. God is holy, loving, and worthy of all our worship and devotion.

He is Sovereign Ruler and Lord who is our Lord.

When we choose our leaders, let us choose people who will contribute to kingdom values. Let us not neglect our responsibilities of being a good steward. Let us be prayerful. The majority need not always be right.

Let us honour the Lord and never be shaken for we have a great and mighty God who is already seated on the throne forever and forever.

You can never stop giving unto the Lord.
