DAY 4 OF 40

The Seven Churches - Day 4

What does it mean to be alive in Christ? It means we have a faith that is genuine, leads us to action, and will withstand being tested. This kind of faith is what the Lord wants from all of us. The followers of Christ in Sardis and Philadelphia each faced unique challenges, and Jesus’s messages to these two churches present a powerful contrast when examined next to one another. Jesus condemns the Christians in Sardis for putting on the appearance of being alive in Him while actually being spiritually dead. On the flip side, Jesus praises the Christians in Philadelphia for remaining faithful and for persevering through trials, adversity, and persecution.

Today, take a few moments to pray and ask the Lord to grant you supernatural faith and perseverance. Ask Him to revitalize your relationship with Him and give you a renewed zeal that will withstand trials and tribulations.
