God's Redemption Story (Revelation)

DAY 29 OF 40

We Hope in Jesus - Day 29

Our human nature wants to punish our enemies and get revenge, but at the end, God is the one who will defeat the real enemy. In the throne room of heaven, when God asks who is worthy to open the book, that is his plan for that defeat; only Jesus is worthy. We like to think Jesus is worthy because he is a great warrior, strong enough to defeat any enemy. But in truth, Jesus is worthy because he sacrificed himself. He demonstrated his great love for us when he willingly went to the cross and shed his blood to pay for our sins.

In God’s perfect timing, he will deal with the enemy and the curse of our sinful nature and all evil. But here and now, it is the love and sacrifice of Jesus that saves us, and that’s the hope we need to share with those around us while there is still time. Soon, the sacrificial lamb will become a powerful lion, and anyone who doesn’t know Him will be lost. Who do you know who needs the hope of Jesus?
