DAY 31 OF 40

We Have an Eternal Home - Day 31

What does the word "home" mean to you? Is it simply the place you sleep at night? Is it a feeling? Is it a specific city, state, or country? Is it a specific person or group of people? While our answers may vary, the concept of home is an important one. There are entire industries built around making things feel like home. For most, the feeling of home can be described with terms like belonging, safety, rest, and contentment.

When we as Christians say this world is not our home, we obviously do not mean that it isn't where we're from, or it isn't where we live. Instead, we mean it isn't where we truly belong or where we can experience the fullness of what God has for us. When Jesus returns to set all things right, a new heaven and a new Earth will be created. In this place, there will be no more brokenness. The heavens, the Earth, and everything in them will exist in perfect peace with each other and with their Creator.
