The Way to Follow Jesus According to the Gospel of LukeSample

The Way to Follow Jesus According to the Gospel of Luke

DAY 1 OF 24

Day 1 – Luke 1

Promises Kept

Have there been times when you’ve taken hold of a promise from God’s Word but it doesn’t seem like the promise will come true? Maybe you’ve waited for what seems to be an endless amount of days, or maybe years and still there is nothing. You wonder will God ever pull this off and if so, how?

When Luke wrote his gospel, he was well aware of the centuries God’s people had been waiting for the promised Messiah. That is why he was careful to validate the events surrounding the birth of Jesus. He wanted readers to see the miraculous events that led up to the fulfillment of God’s promise for a Messiah.

As you read how God intervened in the lives of Elizabeth and Mary, you begin to see how God wove together the tapestry of his plans to fulfill His purposes, in His way and in His perfect timing.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher that the earth, so are my ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” - Isaiah 55:8-9.

Take heart as you hold on to the promises God has given you. He has the bigger picture in mind and He know the details of what has to happen in His perfect way and in His timing for you.

Will you continue to have faith and trust Him for this?
