What to Pray for Your ChildrenSample
What to pray for your children
Practical guidelines (2)
Pray that they will love the Word of God. “They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb” (Psalm 19:10). “I honour and love Your commands. I meditate on Your decrees” (Psalm 119:48).
Pray that they will be fair in their judgment. “For the righteous Lord loves justice. The virtuous will see His face” (Psalm 11:7). “O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micha 6:8).
Pray that they will be merciful and show grace toward other people. “You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate” (Luke 6:36).
Pray for self-respect and respect for other people. “Respect everyone, and love your Christian brothers and sisters. Fear God, and respect the king” (1 Peter 2:17).
Pray for a Biblical and healthy self-image. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10)
Pray that they will be pure and holy before God and sexually pure until marriage. “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).
