Grow With God: 31 Day DevotionalSample
DID YOU TAKE IT TO GOD YET?
DAY SEVENTEEN OF THIRTY ONE
When I’m in unfamiliar territory or I’m dealing with a high-intensity personal problem, my stomach knots up and anxiety creeps in. Years ago, this was almost a daily occurrence. It affected my health, my relationships, and my ability to function well in daily life.
It wasn’t until I decided to intentionally re-wire my brain to focus on the truth of God’s Word that I saw a significant difference in how I dealt with negative circumstances.
I literally had to repeat Scriptures out loud and remind myself that God was in control. I would remind the enemy that he will never win and that my God will always defeat Him.
The Lord knows we’re going to face trouble. He knew you were going to go through that breakup. He saw that you were going to get laid off. God anticipated that your relative was going to attack your character.
He doesn’t cause all things, but He will help you through it all. Fight in prayer, stay thankful, and keep your eyes on Jesus. There’s a reason why God wants us to trust Him, and it has everything to do with our well-being.
Prayer: If you’re currently going through something, look up Scriptures that relate to your situation and write them down. Do your best to memorize them, and ask God to remind you of them when you feel your peace slipping away.
