Grow With God: 31 Day DevotionalSample
WHAT ARE YOU LACKING?
DAY TWENTY OF THIRTY ONE
For any Bible passage, it’s so important to look to different translations in order to get a more well-rounded view. We’re blessed in this day and age to have that information at our fingertips no matter what Scripture you’re looking to get more insight on.
“I shall not want” also translates to “I lack nothing” and “I have all that I need”. We may look at our physical circumstances and see that certain things we want are missing. However, do you have what you need? Shelter, food, clothing, God’s comfort, etc. For most of us, we do. If those things aren’t there, are we truly allowing Him to shepherd us? Are we submitting to His leading? He doesn’t lead in lack.
Seeing this promise come to life for us might be a matter of a perspective shift or a need to realign ourselves in right standing with God. I’ve seen this in my own life when I was tested to trust God and release the death-grip I had on my own future. It was hard to do, but I witnessed for myself what it meant to go from lack to prospering in my life.
It didn’t always mean I had all the money in the world or an abundance of material things. Sometimes prospering means that your spirit is strengthened and you walk in confidence and authority to face any obstacle that comes your way.
Prayer: Pray to God to show you all of the ways He provides for you. If you feel a distance from God, pray for Him to reveal Himself to you in new ways. Intentionally grow closer in a relationship with Him. He wants to spend time with you and lead you as a great and wonderful Shepherd.
