Growing in Truth – For KidsSample

Read Ephesians 6:14

Did you know that you are in a spiritual battle every day? The world is constantly telling us a lot of lies and trying to distract us from doing good. But God has given us a way to protect ourselves—when we surround ourselves with truth, we are protected. How can we surround ourselves with truth? By spending time in God’s Word and in prayer. 

As you read your Bible and pray, sit quietly and listen, asking God to show you His truth. And if you’re confused about whether something is the truth or a lie, ask someone who has known Jesus longer than you have—like a parent, a leader or a trustworthy teacher or coach.

Spend time today in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to show you what you need to learn about truth today.

Heavenly Father, thank you for only speaking truth and never speaking lies. You have given me your Word and your Son so that I can trust in you and grow in your truth. Please show me any areas where I need to grow, and give me the courage to make bold choices even when I am tempted. Help me to know your truth and to live it out every single day with your help. Amen.
