PATIENCE AND A SOFT HEART

For whoever has [spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God’s word], to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied. MATTHEW 13:12 AMP

Every day we are faced with decisions to make. Some are needed in an instant, others require a lot of thought, prayer, and picking apart because of the long‑term consequences. Either way, it’s comforting to know that God is aware of the smallest details and the motives of our hearts for making wise choices. One challenge, though, is when husband and wife don’t agree on what decision to make or the timing in which to make it. Having a soft heart to what God says, and patience with the process and each other, will lead to wisdom and favor. It’s a promise.

Father, You know the decisions my wife and I are faced with, and few of them are simple or easy. Please empty both of our minds of our own agendas and fill them with Your Spirit of truth and wisdom. Open my mind to see her perspective and truly consider it; help her to be patient and willing to hear my thoughts with sincerity; and keep each of our motives pure for hearing Your voice and following Your lead. Help both of us not to get sidetracked, and remove any blindfold that keeps us from understanding and making wise decisions. Through it all, help us to make unity, love, and acceptance for each other our highest aim. TO YOU BE ALL THE GLORY. AMEN.
