Daily Prayers for My WifeSample
HE COMPLETES US
[God] put all things [in every realm] in subjection under Christ’s feet, and appointed Him as [supreme and authoritative] head over all things in the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills and completes all things in all [believers]. EPHESIANS 1:22–23 AMP
Going into marriage, many couples believe their spouse will fill most, if not all, of their needs. It doesn’t take long to find out that this isn’t the case, which can lead to disappointment and dissatisfaction. But God didn’t create a husband or wife to be the other’s all‑in‑all. If He did, we wouldn’t need Him. He purposely made us in a way that we would never be satisfied and complete without His presence and provision—the kind only He can give. Not that this is an excuse for a husband and wife not to do all they can to love and serve each other, but it’s a sober reminder not to expect something from the one we love that he or she was not made to satisfy.
Lord, sometimes I get frustrated because I know I’m not fulfilling every need my wife has. I try, but I know I fall short. I lift her up to You today and ask that You fill the empty spaces I cannot fill. Satisfy her longing to be heard in ways I’m not able to hear or understand. Speak to her with words You know she needs to hear, words of encouragement, conviction, guidance, or simply of Your love. Keep her heart soft when she gets frustrated with me. Please be patient with us as we navigate the places where we need Your grace to come down and fill us. Thank You for my wife and the treasure she is. Help to make me worthy of her love. IN JESUS’ NAME. AMEN.

About this Plan
Whether you’ve been married for five minutes or fifty years, one of the most loving things you can do to strengthen and protect your marriage is to pray. Your wife needs your prayer support to encourage and empower her to be the woman God created her to be and equip her to take on life's daily challenges. As you pray, you'll be inspired to express your love and care for her in new and meaningful ways.
