90 Days to Wholeness: A Porn Addiction Recovery Devotional for WomenSample
Another aspect of responsibility is letting go of anger, resentment, and bitterness by admitting that these have caused you to sin against someone. I don’t know what has happened in your life, but we have all experienced things that have caused us pain. Harboring anger leads us to sin because it gives the enemy a foothold in your heart.
It is certainly understood that your anger or resentment may be justified. Someone may have hurt you in your past or even more recently, and you’re having a difficult time letting go of it. But you are not allowed to sin in your anger (Ephesians 4:26). And if what you are holding onto is causing you to sin, then you cannot approach God with a pure heart and it will be a hindrance to your healing.
Who and/or what do you need to reconcile with in your heart in order to be healed? Remember, forgiveness doesn’t have to be asked for in order for it to be given. Forgiveness begins in your heart and it releases you from the consequences of sin.
