God's Great Victories Sample
Day 7: Not Enough?
Think About:
God used the tiniest army with the strangest weapons to defeat an army that was too big to count- and He did it WITH Gideon, who thought he was the least important person in the whole of Israel!
God does not need a great big army to bring great victories on earth He just needs people who will say, “yes” to serving Him. Those strange weapons are powerful weapons we still have:
1. A clay jar that showed light when it was broken. We just read our lives are like clay jars. When we ask Jesus to be our Saviour, we hold the light of the world in our lives. As we let God work in us, our lives become like Gideon’s broken jars and the light of Jesus shines out of us.
2. A shout- we’ve talked about its power already!
3. Unity- Gideon’s army all shouted the same thing and did what Gideon asked. When we work together and serve God together, we can do so much.
What now?
How can you be like Gideon and his army?
Believe that God chooses you and you are who God says you are. You are not unimportant. You are a mighty warrior for Him. You can fight mighty battles with Him through prayer and serving at home, in your school and in your church. Let the light of Jesus in you, shine out of you. Shout your mighty shouts of victory and be the kid who works together with others, not the one who is mean, unkind and talks about others behind their back.
About this Plan
Throughout the Bible we see God do amazing things. He can do anything. There is nothing beyond His power. Our faith will grow and strengthen when we look at how God won battles and understand His power for ourselves. This will give us courage and strength even when things in our world are hard. So are you ready to be excited about how mighty our God is?
