A Kid's Guide To Matthew

DAY 3 OF 7

Do The Small Stuff

Saturday is set-up day for the school festival. Your family has agreed to vacuum and sweep, but the Browns get to decorate tables, and the Martins are hanging the welcome banners. Will anyone really notice the floors? Does you little part really make a difference?

Every act of service, even a little one, can make a big difference for God. Jesus has always turned a little into a lot, or trash to treasure, and brought something out of nothing. When He’s in it, even the littlest act can be awesome. As we see in Matthew 14:13-21, a couple of fish and some bread become a feast. Or plain old water becomes fine wine. Or death turns to life. So press on. Be willing to do the small stuff. God always notices and appreciates the details… even clean carpets.

Why does doing something super seem better than doing something small? What little ways of serving have you seen turn fantastic?

Write out five things you could do for or give to Jesus right now. (These are offerings.) Put the offerings in a basket. Every couple days, choose one offering to give, and watch what God can do.
