DAY 22 OF 86

DEUTERONOMY 21-22:
Yesterday in Deuteronomy, we heard an example of why cities of refuge were needed. And we heard interesting rules concerning war. It is good to remember that our sovereign creator God had already determined that the people groups in the land were utterly evil and should be destroyed.

PSALM 60:
This poem is again based on David’s experiences. I think that this psalm must show how David prayed before the victories mentioned in the rabbinical title.

ACTS 14:
In chapter 13 of Acts, we completed the story of Paul and Barnabas' short but successful ministry in Pisidian Antioch. They were too successful, and so were run out of town. This is just the first time that will happen!

Let’s pray before opening God’s Word.
Oh Lord our God, You are the sovereign Creator. You rule, and it is your will that will be accomplished on earth. Lord, I thank you for the forgiveness of sins that comes to us because we believe in Christ Jesus. Paul said as he preached in Antioch, “everyone who believes in Him (Jesus) is set free from all the sins that which the law of Moses could not set you free.” Father, we thank that it is through Jesus we have perfect forgiveness. We also have the cleansing of our consciences. We also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, which helps us to do your will. You have written your laws upon our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Therefore we pray that we would believe You fully, that we would confess the sins that still cling to us. Yes Lord, please release us from those things as we sincerely pray to You now. And we thank You that according to first John chapter 1, there is forgiveness when we stumble. We see that some people in Antioch did not come to you because of jealousy. They did not accept your offer because of pride. They loved the acclaim of people more than your acceptance of them. Lord Jesus, we pray that no earthly thing would get in the way of our following You wholeheartedly, We give ourselves totally to you today.
