DÍA 27 DE 32

God’s Promises to Pray-ers: I Act Because You Asked

Have you ever watched children with a pinata at a birthday party? A hollow animal has been constructed of thin plaster. The blindfolded children swing a stick until someone hits the animal. As it breaks, a shower of candy and gifts pours out. When you pray, you may feel blindfolded and feel as though you are flailing about in the dark. But a prayer to God's throne in the name of Jesus always connects with a heavenly pinata, and blessings rain down because you were swinging your stick!

C. S. Lewis calls this the dignity of causality. God gives you and me the honor of influencing what happens tomorrow. The reason? When God hears the prayers of his children, he not only cares; he acts. ‘Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,’ says the LORD” (Psalm 12:5). Did you catch that? God loves you enough to let your thoughts and ideas and needs lead him to change his governance of the world.

Your prayers make a difference. Every prayer you say changes something somewhere. The future is not hardened and unmovable. Your prayers can alter the future.
