Imagine bumping into someone on your best day — literally. Maybe you had coffee in your hand, rushing to your next class when they crashed into you. You show kindness, genuinely concerned about them. They were obviously in their head so much that they were distracted. You can only tell because you took the time to care for them more than yourself at that moment.
Just like us on our best days, Jesus is ready to show an abundance of care and concern for those who need it. Jesus was always ready to care for others because he knew God was taking care of him, no matter what. We're invited into that experience because we know Jesus is always ready to show us compassion. He says to love everyone — including strangers — because you never know if the person you are talking to could need that kindness.
This week, think of how you can go out of your way to show kindness to someone else, and do it!

Apologies — they’re hard to give, but they’re sometimes hard to receive, too. When you’re the one who has hurt someone else, saying you’re sorry (and actually meaning it) takes work and practice. But when you’re the one who’s been hurt by someone else, things get even more complicated. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll unpack apologies and forgiveness.
