If you have siblings, you may be familiar with little arguments that don't really mean anything, and all is well by dinner time. Taking your favorite shirt isn't exactly gonna tear your relationship apart, but what if your sibling did something that caused you not to talk to them for years?
This is exactly what happened to Joseph — his brothers betrayed him and sold him into slavery for twenty shekels of silver. Then one day, Joseph was reunited with his brothers after many years and his rise to power. Only, they didn't know who he was. Joseph explained who he was to them and helped them when they came to him in need. Despite all their past history, Joseph showed mercy. This didn't come easy for Joseph. He knew God's mercy could be extended to those who hurt him after he took the time to think about it.
God gives us guidance when it's time to extend mercy to others. Could you say you would be willing to do this for your loved ones?

Apologies — they’re hard to give, but they’re sometimes hard to receive, too. When you’re the one who has hurt someone else, saying you’re sorry (and actually meaning it) takes work and practice. But when you’re the one who’s been hurt by someone else, things get even more complicated. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll unpack apologies and forgiveness.
