During the days just before Jesus was sent to the cross, He gathered His 12 disciples, His closest friends who had been with Him through thick and thin and celebrated the Passover with them. The disciples didn’t know it yet, but this was to be Jesus’ last supper. Jesus explained that He would soon be leaving them. The disciples were confused... what was going on? Their teacher, rabbi, and friend was leaving? They had known Him only a few short years, but it soon came to pass that Jesus would die on the cross.

The disciples may have felt lost and confused after Jesus died. They went back to what they knew; they went fishing. Out on their boats they found that no matter how hard they tried they could not catch a single fish. But Jesus had risen again and He appeared to the disciples. Read about it in today’s verses.

Jesus was a friend to His disciples. And just as He is a friend to them, He is also a friend to us. Through Jesus, our relationship is now restored with God. We are no longer separated from God and can now enjoy full friendship with Him! I believe Jesus is my Saviour.
