Ask Seek Knock - Sermon on the MountMuestra
Practicing a skill like shooting a basketball into the ring, kick flipping your skateboard, or learning to play an instrument all take persistence. If you gave up after the first time you tried, you’d never progress further. If you tried to complete a level in a game and gave up after one try you would never reach new levels! The reward of not giving up is that in time you can master the skill and reach new levels. Praying with persistence means not giving up! The reward is that our faith will be built, and we’ll see God move in our life. The Bible tells us to ‘pray continually’. This doesn’t mean we have to spend 24 hours a day on our knees in prayer, but it encourages us to keep praying and never give up.
Jesus gathered His disciples and followers on the side of a mountain and taught them about God’s Kingdom. We call this His Sermon on the Mount. Jesus taught about prayer. Prayer is simply talking with God. We can talk to God at anytime and anywhere; He is always listening. Jesus teaches us to ask, seek and knock. Knock and the door will be open to you.
