Ask Seek Knock - Sermon on the MountMuestra
When you talk with your friends, you share about what’s important to you, things you’re worried about, or the things that are going great in your life. You can tell God anything. He’s always listening. In a conversation, there are times that you’re the one talking and there’s times that you’re the one listening. Prayer isn’t just a time when we do all the talking; it can be a time when we’re listening for God’s voice speaking to us. You may not hear God’s voice loud and booming like you might see in the movies. It might be a still small voice, like a whisper to your heart. You might hear from God when you read the Bible and something you read stands out to you. When we seek God in prayer, it’s like a conversation and you grow to know Him more.
There are times when we don’t know what words to pray. Just talk to God like a friend. Tell Him anything that’s on your mind. You could follow Jesus’ example and pray the words of the Lord’s Prayer that He taught in the Sermon on the Mount. You could even ask God to speak to you and help you to know what to pray. When we pray, we are seeking God, and it’s something we never stop doing. You’ll find more and more of God the more you seek Him. You’ll begin to experience Him in your life, feel His presence, see answered prayers and be comforted by Him. The more you get to know God, the more you realise that there’s more to know. Seeking God is a lifelong journey, and if you ask Him, God will lead the way! Seek and you will find.
