Because Jesus Changes Everything - everyone is growing in Jesus!

This passage is vital in helping us understand the implication of how we “grow in Christ." In this passage, there is a word you will see over and over and over and over and over, again: ABIDE. Jesus makes this bold, yet simple statement: to bear fruit, you must abide in Him.

This makes sense to me, especially in light of our belief that Jesus Changes Everything. If I am abiding in the source of change, how can I not be changing! I also found it striking that Christ doesn’t necessarily promise an easy life for us when we abide in Him…on the contrary, He says, if you bear fruit, he will “prune” you so that you can bear more fruit. OUCH! As hard and painful as this may be…it is also good. How have you been pruned by God?

As you reflect on this today, ask yourself, "How have I changed and grown in my faith through my ABIDING faith in Christ?" Take some time to think about this. After taking some time, share one practice in your life that helps you ABIDE in Jesus. - Logan Beardsley
