Parasha Minute: Genesis / BreisheetMuestra
"Strength in Waiting"
Patient actions that pay off are associated with confidence and strategy. But what happens when Adonai tells you to wait or stand still? Inaction is seen as doubt or weakness. What is the strength in waiting? How strategic is it to standing still? Isaiah boldly declared: “Haven’t you known or heard the everlasting Elohim, Adonai, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not grow tired or weary? His understanding cannot be fathomed.” Our creator, Elohim, knows that man would need invigorating and supernatural strength when exhausted. Avram (Abram) was no young man.
His misjudgment at Egypt showed his strength failing. But those who wait on Adonai will renew their strength, they will soar with eagles’ wings.” Refreshing in the greatness of our God is the best cure for tunnel vision, weary minds, fainting spells, and stumbling steps. Reflections / Prayer: Open our eyes to Your greatness and might in times when You call us to wait. Help us to remember that it is not by our might but by Your Spirit; not our power but your will.
