Parasha Minute: Genesis / Breisheet

DÍA 23 DE 31

"Believing Without Seeing"

We’ve heard that faith apart from actions is barren. But how does one take the first step into the unknown? The avinu (father) of many nations, Avraham walked with Adonai on the basis of trust. Confident in his spirit, mind, and body, this trust would bring about what he had hoped for—a son, Yitz’chak (Isaac). Even if it required the impossible: first, an aged couple to conceiving and, second, Yitz’chak’s deliverance from death as first fruit and firstborn sacrifice. Even in a secure relationship, Avraham must have wondered what Adonai saw ahead.

So he kept his trust strong and stepped out again. Because of his faith-filled action offering up his only son on the altar, Avraham was declared righteous reinforcing his bond with Adonai. And so the same God to whom Avraham offered Yitz’chak as a sacrifice is the same One who is not ashamed to be called our God. Reflection / Prayer: Adonai, Avraham trusted in what You saw despite what he could not. May we be like his descendants who believed in the promised land and the promised Mashiach (Messiah) as we look forward to Yeshua’s coming again.
